After the events that have hit Japan, the automotive industry is facing some difficulties. Local manufacturers are no exception and Honda announced the postponement of the presentation of its CR-V restyled.
Honda announced the postponement of one month's presentation of its CR-V restyled. Consequently, production of the current generation of SUVs will be extended for its part of a month. Like many local manufacturers, Honda is struggling to recover from the impact of the earthquake and tsunami.
Similarly, the manufacturer has decided to reduce the production of other models for the North American market such as the next Honda Civic. A trend that is unlikely to improve until a few months.
Honda announced that production will remain confined to small volumes probably until the end of summer. The objective is to regain a normal pace by the end of the year. Suffice to say that the 2011 balance sheet looks very difficult for the Japanese car.
